NuCurrent CEO to Present at 2016 Chicago Venture Summit
Jacob Babcock to share insights on “The Magic Marriage: Integrating Startups with Corporations” panel discussion
(CHICAGO – April 14, 2016) – NuCurrent, the world leader in thin, high quality (Q) factor, printed wireless power transfer antennas, announces NuCurrent CEO Jacob Babcock will participate in the 2016 Chicago Venture Summit to be held April 21 at Google’s Chicago headquarters. Babcock will participate in the “The Magic Marriage: Integrating Startups with Corporations” panel discussion taking place from 1:40–2:40 p.m.
Babcock will be joined on the panel by Michael Young, General Manager of Caterpillar Ventures, and Reese Schroeder, Managing Director at Motorola Solutions Ventures. During the session, the senior leaders of regional Fortune 500 company venture arms and startup founders will discuss corporate support for emerging entrepreneurs, the benefits of the Midwest’s regional economic diversity, and emerging trends in corporate venture.
Under Babcock’s leadership, NuCurrent has established itself as a technology, IP and design leader in magnetics for wireless power transfer and wireless charging. NuCurrent has raised $5 million to date and is featured in some of the world’s leading wireless power products. Prior to NuCurrent, Babcock was Legal Counsel North America for cleverbridge, and a technology and transactions attorney at Foley & Lardner LLP. He was also a teacher with Teach for America. Babcock has a JD from Northwestern University School of Law and a BA from Indiana University.
