Electrical Engineering Technician for Wireless Power Solutions

Position Title: Electrical Engineering Technician

Experience: Associates Degree (2yr) in Engineering or Technical Discipline, or equivalent experience in Engineering field (0-5yrs)

Role Description: NuCurrent is looking for an Electrical Engineering Technician with a Hardware focus who is motivated to work closely with a talented and diverse engineering group to help deliver Wireless Power solutions to customers, in the form of prototypes and validation level units. The candidate will work very closely with senior electrical hardware, electromagnetics, software, and mechanical engineers to assemble and rework custom PCBAs, coils, and mechanical designs for use.   • Become the next superstar engineering technician in wireless power by gaining hands on, practical experience delivering products for world-class clients.
  • Help assemble and test wireless power systems and modules for a diversity of applications, including consumer electronics, industrial devices, automotive industry applications, medical applications and other exciting industries.


  • Work closely with the Engineering team on a daily basis to solder, assemble, disassemble, and re-work PCB assemblies, PCB/Flex/Wirewound coils, and mechanical housings/fixtures
  • Utilize soldering irons, pre-heaters, and microscopes to effectively and quickly make PCBA hardware usable by the Engineering team
  • Troubleshoot issues with faulty hardware and/or equipment to bring to resolution and modify hardware to make usable
  • Execute tasks as assigned via technician task requests with efficiency and on-time to requested deliverable dates
  • Maintain an organized lab area and keep lab components and equipment in defined areas
  • Perform basic electrical tests on coils or PCBs as requested


  • Excellent verbal communications skills, and good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent soldering skills, with ability to hand solder 0201 electrical components, removing and replacing ICs, use of pre-heaters, microscope-level soldering, and use of standard soldering irons
  • Experience with basic electrical test equipment, i.e. oscilloscope, multimeter, soldering tools
  • Ability to multitask and be flexible to changing work priorities
  • Ability to work individually and in small teams
  • Ability make wire cable harnesses, assemble plastic and metal parts with precision, comfort disassembling electronic devices
  • Extremely comfortable with hands-on work and troubleshooting electrical hardware
  • Good organizational skills
  • Knowledge of standard electrical component sizing
  • Ability to wind custom coils out of wire for use in testing



  • Intro-level knowledge of Altium or equivalent PCB design software
  • Experience laying out PCB assemblies, generating PCB parts in PCB design software
  • Experience with bug tracking software, such as Bugzilla
  • Intro-level software programming skills (Python, MATLAB, or C)
  • Significant experience performing electrical testing using oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers
  • Experience in product teardown analysis and testing
  • Experience troubleshooting test equipment and bringing to resolution
  • Demonstrated success in resolution of technical challenges leveraging strong problem-solving skills
