Electronics manufacturer and wireless power provider to bring industry-leading, future-proof wireless charger to leisure markets
ELKHART AND CHICAGO (September 12, 2021) – NuCurrent and American Technology Components (ATC) today announced a major enhancement to the ATC Charging Solutions line with the launch of a high-efficiency, extended-range wireless charger module that is Qi 1.3 compatible, along with an all-new surface mounting option that securely grips and self-centers the smartphone. The new line signals steady growth and demand of wireless charging technology in and beyond the RV and marine markets.
“This time last year, ATC and NuCurrent introduced the world’s best wireless chargers to the RV and Marine markets,” said Ross Nusbaum, Director of Sales and Marketing at ATC. “Today, with this updated offering, our wireless charging product line gives the leisure markets a world class, future-proof device. We are excited to bring this technology to the boating industry, and to even more product categories including but not limited to, golf carts, construction vehicles, ATVs/UTVs and much more.”
The latest wireless charging modules leverage a new Bill Of Materials (BOM) that integrates standard component materials that have been relatively unimpacted by pandemic-era supply chain issues. For end-customers, the offering will bring an improved user experience and confidence that their future Qi 1.3 wireless charging phones will be supported. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) will be able to offer smaller, thinner modules with a flexible 12-24V front-end. While the ATC Charging Solutions line has historically featured Extended Power Profile (EPP) 15W Qi charging (based on NuCurrent’s MP-A17 design specification), the new version is compatible with the Qi 1.3 specification that is the latest from the Wireless Power Consortium, making the device future-proof.
“We’re excited to see NuCurrent’s technology deployed through ATC,” said Tim Tumilty, EVP of Business Development at NuCurrent. “By leveraging NuCurrent’s IP and design capabilities, ATC has created a suite of leading charging products, designed and built in the USA, that are meeting the needs of OEMs world-wide, while providing an outstanding end user experience.”
The expanded product offering from ATC and NuCurrent will be unveiled and available for live demonstration at the at IBEX Show in Tampa, FL from Sept. 27-29 and SEMA from Nov. 1 – 4 in Las Vegas, NV.
