The power consumption level in Standby Energy Mode is 0.05A @ 9V-12V. Currently, efforts are underway to further reduce this level to comply with CEC/Department of Energy requirements using NuCurrent’s foundational beaconing and idle power consumption IP.

Qi2 Max™ Tx  currently supports USB-PD 2.0 and 3.0. As there is no data connection in the current version, USB 3.0 and 3.1 compatibility is not considered.

The current version of Qi2 Max™ does not require software integration as it lacks a data connection. Data capabilities are under development. For more information, please contact NuCurrent.

Qi2 Max™ requires USB PD or QC power supply. Future version(s) will be compatible with a 12V DC source.

The completed module does not come with a surface finish. End users will need to integrate it with a non-conductive material. Dimensions and integration details are available in the User Guide from NuCurrent or Amphenol.

The maximum cover thickness that can be added while retaining the required interoperability and certification is 0.95 + 0.5mm.

Will Qi2 Max™ support wireless charging for older phones?2024-03-20T22:27:53+00:00

Yes, the Qi2 Standard introduces backwards and forwards wireless charging compatibility among all mobile devices. This includes older legacy Qi v1.3, v1.24, and prior phones, older MagSafe iPhones, latest iPhones 15 with Qi2, and future phones certified to Qi v1.3 BPP and MPP, as well as future phones certified to Qi2.

 

Does the entire end product need to be certified, even though the Tx module alone is certified?2024-03-20T22:34:27+00:00

No, only the Qi2 Max™ module sub-assembly needs certification. This allows the end-product to require registration rather than full certification.
