What is Slotted Power?

In the Ki specification, the Auxiliary Power and Communications portion, sometimes called “Slotted Power” provides power and data for:

  • Appliance identification, start-up, and initialization
  • Auxiliary power for user interface – no batteries required
  • Safety checks such as Foreign Object Detection
  • OEM differentiation with added features & functionality
